General Terms and Conditions for Participants

1. Implementation

Opening hours: Thursday and Friday 12.00 - 20.00, Saturday and Sunday 10.00 - 18.00
Admission fee: Adults 12EUR, children (7-16 yrs) 3EUR, Children below 7 admitted free when accompanied by parents

2.Rental space

VAT will be added to the rental fee. Finnboat members are entitled to a 25% discount on all rented space. Space for rent is designated in terms of square meters as follows:
  • MOORING SPACE: 25EUR/m2, Discount for the second boat is 20%, the third 30%, the fourth 40%, the fifth and subsequent boats 50%. Boat number one is always the largest, boat number 2 the second largest, and so on.
  • EQUIPMENT STANDS IN TENTS: 28EUR/m2, depth of stands 3,5m.
  • LAND-BASED STANDS: 22EUR/m2, land-based stands are located on the dinghy parking area.

3.Exhibitors and products

The show is open for new products traded by professional dealers or products that are manufactured to order. The show is open to the manufacturers of boats and other marine-industry products, their authorised agents as well as marine industry authorities, organisations and publications. Only those products that have been approved by the organiser can be displayed. The organiser has the right to reject any application to participate. Boats/products may not be removed from exhibition stands during the show.

4.Booking exhibition space

Application for exhibition space must be submitted on the booking form by 20.5.2011. The booking confirmation sent with the organiser's invoice is a binding contract for both parties as regards exhibition space and its rental. The exhibitor has no right to rent out or otherwise surrender the stand or any portion of it to a third party without the written consent of the organiser. The exhibitor has the right to cancel participation in writing within fourteen (14) days from the date the exhibitor receives the organiser's booking confirmation, though no later than 14 days before commencement of the exhibition.

5.Location of the exhibition stand

The organiser shall determine the final location of boats and exhibition stands. In the event of any possible shortage of space, the organiser has the right to limit the number and size of boats notified by the exhibitor.

6.Payment for rented space

The space rental must be paid for by 8.8.2011. Fully paid-up rent is a prerequisite for participating in the show.

7.Cancellation of participation

In the event that an exhibitor has not exercised his right to cancel participation as stated in paragraph 4 above and the display space reservation is cancelled later than fourteen (14) days before commencement of the exhibition, the organiser shall recover in full measure all accrued costs from the exhibitor.

8.Installing exhibits and building stands

The exhibitor is responsible for constructing his own exhibition stand. The organiser has the right to inspect the structure and demand that changes to be made if necessary. In building and dismantling the stand the following instructions and any separate and subsequent instructions must be adhered to:
  • assembling land-based exhibition stands and bringing in boats may begin on Wednesday 17.8 at 0900 hours. Supervising the acceptance of boats will cease at 2000 hours
  • exhibition stands must be completed by 1000 hours on Thursday 18.8
  • dismantling displays may begin after 1800 hrs on Sunday 21.8. Boats must be removed by 1200 hrs on Monday 22.8. Land-based stands must be dismantled by 1400 hrs on Monday 22.8
  • bringing boats into the HSK boat harbour before the specified arrival time or leaving boats behind after the specified departure time must be separately arranged with HSK's harbour master
  • fixed or detachable property at the exhibition venue must not be damaged. The exhibitor is liable to compensate for any damage caused to jetties or the surrounding environment
  • attaching separate structures to the jetties is forbidden on grounds of safety.

9.Transportation of goods

The exhibitor is responsible for transporting goods to and from the exhibition site at his own cost. The organiser is not liable for accepting, dismantling or storing goods, nor is the organiser responsible for dispatching goods after the exhibition.

10.Security protection and insurances

The organiser is responsible for providing fire protection and maintaining general order in the exhibition area, but is not liable for damage to or disappearance of boats/products or structures. Liability insurance taken out by the organiser compensates for third-party damages resulting from the actions of the organiser's own staff or equipment. The liability insurance does not otherwise compensate for damages caused to the exhibitor. The exhibitor himself must take out insurance cover that he deems appropriate to his needs.

11.Exhibition catalogue

Any mention of the exhibitor and display products in the exhibition catalogue is free-of-charge.

12.Identity- and customer cards

On payment of the rental fee the exhibitor will be issued with his own identity cards giving holders the right of free access to the exhibition area for the duration of the show. Three cards will be provided without charge for the first boat on display after which one card will be supplied for each additional boat. For land-based exhibition stands cards are provided as follows:

Stands below 9 m2 = 2 cards
Stands 9-24 m2 = 4 cards
Stands 25-50 m2 = 6 cards
Stands over 50 m2 = 10 cards

In addition to the above, identity cards can be ordered at a cost of EUR10 each (incl. VAT). The card is person specific.
The exhibitor can order customer cards in advance. They cost 9EUR each (incl. VAT). Cards can be sent by mail or bought at the Finnboat office. At least five cards must be ordered. Customer cards that have been utilised will be invoiced after the exhibition.

13.Test sailing and test drives

Test sailing and test drives for boats on display must take place outside exhibition hours. The exhibitor may not vacate his mooring jetty during opening hours.

14.Retail sales

The retail sale of boat equipment is permitted during the exhibition.

15.General provisions

The exhibitor is bound to observe these terms and conditions for participation and any supplementary instructions posted at the exhibition site or conveyed in some other manner. In the event that the Finnish Marine Industries Federation Finnboat, due to insurmountable obstacles, is unable to organise the show at the aforementioned time, it reserves the right to cancel the exhibition or change the schedule.
